About
Real Talk World, The Real Talk World Library and The Reality Creation Project have been created to speed up human evolution and improve mankind’s chances for long-term survival. Hi! My name is Roger “Pete” Peterson and sitting next to me in a seafood restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is my wife, Sandy. We started Real Talk World out of a lifelong desire to make peace within ourselves and the world so we could live life with more love, truth and joy. Gradually, this idea evolved into support for human evolution and survival. Welcome!
(One day, at home alone many years ago, I had a moment of profound frustration and then revelation. It seemed none of my efforts to change myself and the world for the better were working. I felt helpless and hopeless at the same time. In desperation, I threw my hands up in the air and asked the universe- What do I want more than anything else in All That Is? A strong male voice, about six inches in front of my forehead, answered, “Love.” Although startled by the presence of a disembodied voice so close to my face, I knew it was true and affirmed it by shouting to myself, Yes, that’s it! All I want is to love and be loved. In that moment, I knew that everything I had ever done in my life was for love, whether it was to give love or receive it. And I was always at my worst when I felt farthest away from it. – Pete)
When we are young, we are taught many things that are well meaning. Some are wise and most, thought to be necessary. However, when all is said and done, much of what we are taught is meant to contain and control our behavior because of strong cultural beliefs that tell us we are basically bad and can’t trust ourselves (See: What I learned in Catholic School and My Recurring Superman Nightmare). Too often much of what we are told and how we are treated makes us feel shameful, fearful, self-conscious, insecure, angry, hostile and/or defensive. Some of us thoughtlessly bend to the demands made of us by others (parents, friends and society’s institutions) without question while some of us rebel. Neither reaction makes us happy because neither supports us in becoming our true selves. We all have a responsibility to ourselves and the world to develop our own powers of perception and understanding, to challenge and test all ideas, to see what works best for us and what doesn’t, what we like and what we don’t like. Responsibility (accountability and self-development) is the price of freedom.
Who are we?
What’s Reality?
What’s the purpose of life?
What can we do today for the selves we’ll be tomorrow?
Real Talk World is about seeing where we are, deciding where we want to be, and getting from here to there. It is not about right and wrong, good and bad, guilt and punishment. It is not about comparing ourselves to one another. It is not about comparing ourselves and one another to outside standards of being and performance. It is not about fear, separation, competition and survival of the fittest. It is not about seeing ourselves as victims and armoring ourselves against a hostile world. It is not about sleepwalking through life or taking it for granted by mindlessly following the “rules”. It is not about living by value judgment and being controlled from the outside, in.
It is about paying attention to our own unique experience and developing internal values over a lifetime of living and learning. It is about playfulness, experimentation and paying attention to what works for us and what works against us, what we like versus what we don’t like. It is about accepting our own unique being and authority. It is about actively seeking the qualities of life and being we value most, our ideals, and actualizing them to the best of our ability. It is about valuing our oneness as much as our individuality. It is about the value of YOU, ME and US. It is about surviving. It is about consciously changing ourselves and the world for the better. It is about living by value fulfillment and learning how to control ourselves from the inside, out.
An external value system of right and wrong, good and bad (value judgment) is to a child as training wheels are to a bicycle. They help us function until we learn to walk on our own, or in this case, think on our own.
Family of web sites:
- Real Talk World (Home Site)- is where the world comes to talk about the root cause of human behavior, or the reality behind reality. Most media comment and report on what’s already happening in the world but few examine the role core beliefs (how we define ourselves and “reality”) play in the creation of our experience. Join the discussion as we explore and develop knowledge and understanding of ourselves that will enable us to change our experience from the inside, out, before it happens. Thought processing is what we do, even after much of our understanding has settled into programmed patterns, or recipes for living. It (a “Decider”) is who we are! It is how we imagine and create each new moment, both in life and in dreams. We become the victims of reality only when we fail to see or take responsibility for our role in creating it. The success of this website can lead to an expansion into radio and television, giving even more people access to this discussion.
- Real Talk Library – for the study and evolution of human consciousness. Study or add your own (visit the Real Talk Library for examples) informational accounts of experiences in life, dreams and altered states of consciousness. Philosophical and religious views that help us understand who we are and what reality is are welcome too. However, no dogma is allowed. Every belief submitted to the Real Talk Library is open to examination and question.
- Reality Creation Project – for getting from here to there. This site combines technologies with support for change. Encourage and support others by sharing your own thoughts, questions, insights and stories of success!
- The LifeSong Store – where the world comes to shop for inspirational and life changing ideas on T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, hoodies and more. Change the world for the better with POTS (Philosophy On T-Shirts)! Life-changing books (philosophies) and technologies are also included.
During the course of everyday events we often forget the role of thoughts in the forging of our material reality. We get lost in the visible symbols, the material by-products of our imaginations, forgetting the invisible blueprints from which they, and we, emerge.
Pure energy, like money, its material equivalent, is shaped into matter and experience by thought. It can be used to lift up or smash down, to build character or destroy character, to express love or express hate, to beautify or make ugly.
The purpose, or challenge, of life is to learn how to use thought in its various forms to shape energy into a pleasing reality. The prize is a sense of satisfaction, a feeling of a job well done. And, like learning to walk or talk, it is a personal, subjective endeavor that requires creative aggression. It is a great balancing act, where one must accept falling down in the course of learning how to stand up.
Remember:
Thoughts are “things” with a reality of their own and each of us, an artist. With thoughts in the forms of belief, attitude, value and expectation we paint the landscape of our lives. Change for the better? Yes, we can!
Real Talk World starts with the core question:
What’s going to work best for ALL of us? This question takes YOU, ME and US (everyone and everything) into consideration. It also provides us with unlimited ways to expand the discussion. For example:
- What’s going to work best for ALL of us in personal terms? (What’s the best way to fulfill our own unique potential in support of ourselves and the world?)
- What’s going to work best for ALL of us in terms of business? (What’s the best way to maintain the health and well-being of ourselves and the world?)
- What’s going to work best for ALL of us in terms of education? (What’s the best way for us to learn and grow?)
- What’s going to work best for ALL of us in terms of the environment? (What’s the best way for us to relate to nature and the earth?)
- What’s going to work best for ALL of us in terms of peace? (What’s the best way to relate to each other as individuals and nations?)
The growing collapse of our economic and social system (increases in the number of people in the world and in jail, homelessness, joblessness, food shortages, disease, wars, global warming, unsustainable growth and the loss of wealth), can be laid at the feet of putting individuality and self-interest (ego) ahead of oneness and the common good. A similar imbalance occurs when we put the common good ahead of self-interest. Why not create a system that serves both equally? By giving equal value to both our oneness and individuality, we make it possible to cooperate, not compete with one another. And by asking questions that include ALL of us, we not only acknowledge our oneness and individuality, we acknowledge our individual and collective role, and responsibility, in co-creating our shared reality.
How we define ourselves, and the world around us, forms our intent, which in turn, forms our reality.
Welcome to REAL TALK WORLD!
Three core beliefs that will change the world for the better. – Seth
1. You create your own reality according to the nature of your beliefs.
2. All existence is blessed.
3. Evil does not exist in reality.
When we first read them, many of us are outraged by these beliefs. That’s okay! However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t test drive them to see were they take us. As the saying goes, “the proof of the pudding is in the taste.”
We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
